Grant Deadlines

We have two grant cycles per year, Spring (June decisions) and Fall (November decisions).

A one-page letter of inquiry must be submitted and accepted before any grant proposal is reviewed.

The letters of inquiry phase for the fall 2014 cycle is CLOSED.

The deadline for letters of inquiry for the spring 2015 cycle is November 1, 2014.

Our focus in arts grantmaking is to support a vibrant and enriching society by increasing awareness and engagement by the general public in the arts. The Foundation restricts its arts grantmaking to Summit County, Ohio, considering funding for programs, special projects/performances, and operations. We do not fund capital (building or general fundraising) campaigns.
 
 Value-added characteristics include:

• Offers diversity of audience and/or diversity of participants
• Educational element
• Equips, grows, sustains, or transforms the arts community
• Promotes and instills creativity in those who participate
• Serves children, seniors, underserved
• Increases attendance/participation in the arts
• Promotes MCMF mission and vision

Akron Art Prize 2014, sponsored by the Margaret Clark Morgan Foundation and produced in collaboration with Downtown Akron Partnership opens Saturday, September 6!

Akron Art Prize 2014 continues through October 4 featuring over 150 artists at five venues. And more excitement during 29 Days of art! This year also introduces the Akron Art Prize app for an enhanced voter experience and a drawing worth $1,000 for registered voters!

The Margaret Clark Morgan Foundation has partnered with Downtown Akron Partnership to present a public visual arts event wherein the public votes to determine the winners of $10,000; $5,000 to the first place winner and $1,000 each to five runners-up. Over 5,000 visitors enjoyed last year’s event, with over 500 showing up for the finale at the Akron Art Museum where the prizes were announced and the first place piece was put on display. The finale this year will again be held at the Akron Art Museum, October 4, 7-10pm.
