Our focus in arts grantmaking is to support a vibrant and enriching society by increasing awareness and engagement by the general public in the arts. The Foundation restricts its arts grantmaking to Summit County, Ohio, considering funding for programs, special projects/performances, and operations. We do not fund capital (building or general fundraising) campaigns.

Applications now open thru July 7 for artists to enter the third annual Akron Art Prize, sponsored by the Margaret Clark Morgan Foundation and produced in collaboration with Downtown Akron Partnership.
In 2012 the Margaret Clark Morgan Foundation partnered with Downtown Akron Partnership to present a public visual arts event wherein the public votes to determine the winners of $10,000; $5,000 to the first place winner and $1,000 each to five runners-up. That first year the month-long event was enthusiastically received by over 120 artists and thousands of visitors. Over 5,000 visitors enjoyed last year’s event, with over 500 showing up for the finale at the Akron Art Museum where the prizes were announced and the first place piece was put on display.
Akron Art Prize 2014 promises to be bigger and better! More artists. More venues. More excitement!
